Jens wrote this song after having read a book by his favourite university professor called "Everything could be different". It's basically about how we travel a road without an exit lane in our lives, leaving no space for changes (other than re-arranging our furniture).

Lyrics & Music: Jay Hoffmann
He walks the line
Along a winding road that leads to nowhere
Feeling fine
On streets without an exit lane
No change of direction…
And everything’s the same
In her life she feels stuck
running out of luck
Trying to duck and cover herself
with the blankets of her well-worn life
And her petty daily fights…
Tomorrow looks like yesterday
and today is not much different
She’s travelling a road without an exit lane
The future does not have have to be
A endlessly continued present
Close your eyes and see…
Everything could be
Completely different
Everything could be….
We live in rooms without a door
We have even stopped to want more
We are proud of our comfortable prison cells
To get some change
We re-arrange - the furniture!
Tomorrow looks like yesterday
And yesterday’s just fade away
We’re counting down the seconds of our lives
The future does not have have to be
A endlessly continued present
Close your eyes and see
(Spoken: A different reality)
Everything could be
Completely different
Everything could be
Completely different
Everything could be
